Trolls Jr the Musical

Trolls JR. is based on the irreverent DreamWorks Animation movie franchise and features a colorful, wondrous world populated by hilariously unforgettable characters. The show follows the overly optimistic Trolls, constantly with a song on their lips, and the comically pessimistic Bergens, who are only happy when they have Trolls in their stomach.

The Troll thespians in Poppy’s company live by their motto: the show must go on. But when a tyrannical foreign emissary arrives in Bergenland, expectations are raised, forcing the Trolls to totally rework their show or risk being served up in the name of diplomacy by a Chef rehired and out for revenge.

Auditions - Sept. 25th & 26th

Students may audition for Trolls Jr and Jolly Holiday at the same time. They will indicate on their form which show they are auditioning for (or both)

Acting

Trolls Jr the Musical is our 2026/27 PAPAS Acting class production..

We work on acting technique and improv which culminates in the Trolls production in May. The first classes in September will be working audition skills as well as how to prepare for a specific role you are interested in (in this instance we will be doing some character development with the roles from the show as well as learning the dance and some song options). We spend the first semester working on acting skills and improvisation as well as starting to block scenes and songs from Trolls Jr..

Trolls rehearsals will be added in March & April (show is in early May)

Students need to be registered for the class for the year in order to participate in the show as the year builds skills throughout.

PAPAS is proud to offer this unique program because that focuses on skills for the individual actor rather than just teaching blocking and choreography. PAPAS is the only program in the area that works on acting technique and improv and then gives the opportunity for a full blown production, wonderful for the developing artist!
